Current copyright law is disgusting, especially the Disney et.al
version now current in the USA. Putting something in the pubic domain
does indeed allow it to be stolen and sequestered by creeps. But, so
does copylefting (cf. http://www.sankey.ws/bach.html).
I wish there were a solution less ridiculous than getting rid of
lawyers, but after a lifetime in the business, I have given up on
both lawyers and creeps. See http://www.sankey.ws/ for the solution
I've adopted.
