I just fetched the lilypond 1.3.128 tarball (in case I'd had errors in
patching -- I've patched up since 1.2.0)
The same problem still arises.
I'm using make from the Woody debian distribution -- 3.79.1
The patch from Jan seems to have partially fixed the documentation build
problem, though -- thanks!
I now see:
makeinfo out/lilypond.texi -o out/lilypond.info
./out/lilypond.texi:3628: Cross reference to nonexistent node `Repeat'.
makeinfo: Removing output file `out/lilypond.info' due to errors; use --force
to preserve.
make[3]: *** [out/lilypond.info] Error 2
