 Welcome to HOPE Number Nine

    It's happening!  HOPE Number Nine is this weekend.

    Tickets at the door: Were you too busy to pre-register?  Get your ticket
    at the door, starting Friday July 13, for only $120 (cash or credit
    card).  Registration desk hours are posted.  Registration includes live
    musical performances Friday and Saturday nights.

    The HOPE Number Nine Speaker Schedule is available.  Check out talk
    names, abstracts, and speaker biographies.  Three tracks of incredible
    content (plus a fourth "unscheduled" track) start at 10am on Friday
    morning July 13.  Keynotes include William Binney and The Yes Men.

    Want to get involved?  Stop by the Info Desk to volunteer. You can also
    find out about lightning talks (Friday/Saturday after the keynotes) and
    the "unscheduled" Fourth Track (sign up at the Info Desk).

    Information about art at HOPE Number Nine is available.

    Workshops and Hacker Space Village scheduling grids are available!
    Classes, workshops, and many hands-on experiences are scheduled.  Visit
    the Call for Hackerspaces for more information.

    Calls for submissions are all closed.  Many outstanding submissions were
    received, and HOPE Number Nine is shaping up to be a memorable event.

    About HOPE

    HOPE Number Nine is taking place on July 13, 14, and 15, 2012 at the
    Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City. H.O.P.E. stands for Hackers On
    Planet Earth, one of the most creative and diverse hacker events in the
    world.  It's been happening since 1994.

    Join us for three full days and nights of activities, including more of
    the provocative and enlightening speakers that the HOPE conferences are
    known for. In addition, we have access to a massive amount of space to
    put together all sorts of hacker projects and assorted fun stuff. In the
    past we've had huge hackerspace villages, film festivals, Segway rides,
    lockpicking villages, a wide variety of vendors, art installations, live
    radio, vintage computers, robots, ham radio installations, electronics
    workshops, book signings, and the country's biggest supply of Club-Mate.

    Now imagine all of that happening right in the middle of New York City,
    across the street from Penn Station and down the block from the Empire
    State Building. It seems impossible, but with the hard work and
    dedication of our huge volunteer staff, we're able to pull it off. You
    can also become part of the magic, whether by attending or volunteering
    to help run the event with us. We also encourage attendees to submit
    ideas for talks or to suggest projects that we may not have ever thought
    of before.  Please explore and spread the word!
