PRAYER FOR RELIEF
The SFLC asks for relief as if the GPL does not exist and the
other side has simply been violating copyrights. It is up to the
other side to assert that it is using the GPL as a license,
whereupon they must explain why they are not honoring it. This is
merely tactics.
This is what the SFLC asked for, but they got nothing. Verizon
still distributes the routers and no injunction was issued.
Verizon paid no damages. Verizon disgorged not profits.
Verizon now complies with the GPL, which is the goal of the
enforcement action. Thus the SFLC won.
Verizon paid no litigation expenses for the SFLC.
How do you know this?
The court merely dismissed the case with predjudice.
False. The two sides settled and the plaintiffs therefore
dismissed the case, there no longer being any matters in dispute.
That sure looks like they came up empty.
Compliance. Compliance sought, compliance achieved.
