Also in light of the file format to be used in Arch 2.0, designed
based on the experience of Arch 1  by Tom, are based on the git model,
which may be a indication that the git like approach is considered to
be "the way to go" for the future (more Windows friendly, for one
thing), it is not clear if doing changes to the 1.x format in an
incremental way is worth the effort.
