Its something novices don't want to use, and something experienced users
use moderately (since novices come and ask experienced users for help
that requires this sort of thing)

Asking the user a question and blocking isn't really arch's style. I
think that in this particular case, keeping things the way they are
(warning people to watch out) is probably the right way to keep going
for now.
