display text on phone screen from gnokii?

Hi,

Can someone tell me if its possible to send text from gnokii (numbers/alphabets) that can be displayed on the connected phone's screen? I think that the gnokii keypress & enterchar might work for this.
I need to do this on the Nokia 1661 or 1208 phones. The nk6510 driver works with these phones, but the PressOrReleaseKey function is not completely implemented in nk6510.c. I have tried using code from the nk6100.c driver for PressOrReleaseKey but that didn't work. 

Has anyone been able to use gnokii to display key presses on a connected phone? If so, could you please tell me what phone model it works on?
