You mean 3rd Edition.

What I meant to say is that we have a working Gnapplet for S60 2nd ed. But on 3rd ed. APIs have changed and the thing could be rewritten to compile on 3rd. ed tools. In that way it could be based on 2nd ed.

That's right. Daniele recently started to work on this but he faced
the problem of the self-signing site being down -- 3rd Ed. requires
applications to be digitally signed in order to run.

The signing is not really an issue. You can always get past that by configuring your device's settings, of course that is a nuisance when an application is being distributed to hundreds or thousands of users. The commercial applications have a real certificate which is based on Symbian Certified testing. The certification process is affordable nowadays, so if any results were available I'm positive we would be able to get it passed.
