Before downloading new sms's, smsd tries to check if there are new sms's.
"entering dumb mode" mean that smsd is unable to use GN_OP_GetSMSFolderStatus
or GN_OP_GetSMSStatus for sms's status checking. And it tries blindly
download sms's from folder.
In your case it mean that something wrong happend with communication with
phone and functions which worked before don't work anymore.
