why not try the released version 0.4.0.beta4? I've uesd it for a
month. it's not bad, I think.

Is that really too old? It seems unwise to rely on unstable software
under development as the testsuite for a new product.

I agree with you as this point. And I was also reluctant to use any
beta version in the past because I thought it's unstable. But for
Ming, based on my own experience, the released 0.4.0.beta4 is better
and more stable than the old version. It's worthwhile to have a try,
either for passing the "make check" or producing new testcases.

I confess I don't really understand what your problem is, what with
all these public accusations of incompetence and ranting. Mind you,
the atmosphere in the group since I have known it has been sneering
and competitive instead of cooperative, so I am discounting the
offensiveness as part of that sad game.

I mean, every time I make a commit you start ranting at me. What *is*
your problem?

I think I understand you displeasure. All the faults is the "stupid"
"make check". I didn't understand it and disliked it in the past. It
was so easily broken and time costing when you maintain it. But my
opinion is keep changing now, I begin rely on it more and more. It
improve my confidence when I commit anything. And I guess no one would
rant at me if I'v passed the "make check":)

I'm sure you have your own collection of testcases(just as I do) , and
you have already passed them before you do any commit. And you may
think you don't need to care about the "make check". But at least
there's one reason that you should also take "make check" into
consideration: there are more than 8000 checks(most of them are
self-contained) there and it is growing up everyday. It will probably
exceed your private testsuit someday. Then you'll wonder which one you
should rely on:) Actually, I have already begun to spend more time on
the CVS testsuite than my own testsuite these days.

As for me, testcase is always a good and efficient way for
communication and cooperation( I cann't speak English fast:) )... I
hope you'll get "make check" work there.
