Gcc-8.2.0 built cleanly on Solaris 10/sparc with gcc-6.4.0 and I am anxious as to whether gm2 will build. johnHello John, if you have any additional important details for building gm2+gcc-8.2.0 feel free to email them to me as I've just updated the web page around building 8.2.0 on debian stable.
LDFLAGS is not propagated into the gm2 Makefiles. On Solaris, libpth depends on some other libraries, so I defined LDFLAGS="-lnsl -lsocket -lpthread -lrt -L/lib". This propagates into the gcc Makefiles but not the gm2 ones. (I manually added "-lnsl -lsocket -lpthread -lrt -L/lib"
after each entry "-lpth" in gm2/Make-lang.in.) Sincerely, john
The Solaris build info is currently mentioning 4.7, so it would be good to bring this up to the current stable release, regards, Gaius
