Hello Jan,

many thanks for offering your help. Your help wouldn't go amiss.

Macports isn't at all essential for me. I just tried to use it, because it

seemed to be a convenient way for getting gm2 up and running.

I would appreciate if you will bother to collect all the experience

you gained by installing gm2 on OS-X 10.6. and share it with me.

I don't think that the updates of OS-X are very crucial because the tar-ball for

gm2 brings his own libs. Also the hardware OS-X is running on shouldn't

be of importance. So I will be happy if I hear from you again.

Hello Matthias,

About a year and a half ago, I managed to install and run gm2 on a mac (10.6.8). I did not do it with macports.
I can lookup how I did it and what troubles I had to overcome (surprisingly few). But I do not know if it will cover your problems / how essential Macports is to you.
And I have not updated since, so I do not know if your problems are related to recent changes.
So, in fact I can only let you know it has been done on a SL Mac.
