This might be a crazy suggestion, but could we run an -rc server under
valgrind to log memory corruption from a live server? I guess the server is
reasonably lightweight?

I did do valgrind on the YOG server, with no problems that I found, atleast during my testing. There might still be some problems that are arrising after extensive use.
