[ft-devel] PMingLiu and unpatented hinting again

Hi!

 

We’ve just hit the PMingLiu abuse-of-hinting issue for the first time here.

 

Is it possible to build the latest FT in such a way that it is possible to select between the autohinter and unpatented hinting easily on a font-by-font basis?

 

It doesn’t seem to be possible to do so easily with 2.1.9.

 

Since this seems likely to be a configuration required by a number of folk, do you think it’s worth adding this as a possibility (if not the default)?
