We already added this "magic feature" to the FreeType CVS; more precisely,
tricky fonts
like MingliU are detected automatically and the unpatented hinter used in this
case.
Have you tried it ? If it doesn't work, send us the font privately, and we'll
update
the detection code to deal with it.
