Hi,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
                         FreeSCI VM Extension

Sean Terrell, Xiaojun Chen, Christoph Reichenbach

Abstract: FreeSCI is a graphical adventure game interpreter based on the Sierra
On-Line Script Interpreter released in the late 1980s. This document details
the design and implementation of an extension to the virtual machine heap which
allows FreeSCI to support a larger address space and, in consequence, bigger
adventure games.

This paper details many of the changes which define the 'glutton' branch of
FreeSCI relative to the main one. It discusses the principial design
behind glutton, the implementation and some of the features that came along
with it, and concludes by presenting performance benchmarks. A slightly
revised version will shortly be submitted as a final project report for a
course in Advanced Operating Systems at the University of Colorado.

The current version of the paper is available on-line from

        http://www.teksolv.de/~jameson/fsci-final.ps
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any comments or suggestions regarding this paper would be greatly appreciated;
the final version will be made available for the FreeSCI documentations
section.
