Thanks for this idea. Such a script would probably capture a large percentage of the integration [that i'm looking for]. My plan is to explore emacs mail clients a bit more, but if I tire out, I will work on this.
Fwiw, from my experience and discussions with others I believe wanderlust is the most complete disconnected-IMAP MUA available (better than evolution, outlook, mutt+offlineimap).
Thanks for reminding me of wanderlust. It does seem like a powerful client and one that is better focused to my particular uses. I will give it a try.
