I'm sympathetic to this, too. I don't move my directories around much, 
and I'm not eager to end up working on a windows machine (grin) but 
since the possibility is there, I like having the option. I suppose a 
different solution would be to mass-replace the appropriate paths upon 
changing filesystems. I hadn't thought about the ins and outs of 
publishing, since I'm not currently publishing my plans -- for those 
purposes, it sounds like your emacs-wiki-link-url hack takes care of 
most needs. I'll work for a while with these relative paths, and I'll 
let you know how it works out.
