It can't. Shutting down a machine includes shutting down all apps,
which in turn includes closing all documents. There are plenty
situations you can't restore after a reboot: dynamic web pages or
"running" servers, as examples.
i also hate sleep states because of major acpi brain damage.
"ACPI"? What's that?
I just have to do something about it!
an init replacement was the first step. Then next is a cairo driven
framebuffer based editor that will solve all my problems.
The good thing here is, this obviously leads to a lean GNUstep
implementation/installation as well, right?
