Admittedly, no. Those tools are present, but much later versions:

 autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.52

 automake (GNU automake) 1.6.1

libtool won't tell me what version it is, but file says: libtool:
 Mach-O executable ppc

So I guess later is not better. Will backtracking to those specific
versions squirrel something else up? I suppose I could put the
specific versions in a side directory and put it first in the path.

The newer versions should be fine.

Right after your checkout, what is the output of the call to the
"reconf" script (before you issued the make)?

Stephane,

After reconf:

[pbLULU:/developer/gnuradio] hmyler% ./reconf
configure.in:36: warning: AC_COMPILE_IFELSE was called before AC_AIX
configure.in:36: warning: AC_COMPILE_IFELSE was called before AC_ISC_POSIX

autoheader: config.h.in is unchanged
aclocal.m4:1295: required file `./ltmain.sh' not found
automake: src/gnu/lib/gr/Makefile.am: Assembler source seen but `CCAS' not defined in `configure.in' automake: src/gnu/lib/gr/Makefile.am: Assembler source seen but `CCASFLAGS' not defined in `configure.in'
autoheader: include/config.h.in is unchanged
aclocal.m4:846: required file `config/ltmain.sh' not found
automake: processing Makefiles another time to fix them up.

I 're-ran' reconf (to get the above). Then I re-ran make (so I could send you the output). This time the make entered an infinite loop, I had to kill it. Hopefully the above will illuminate something--thanks!

Harley
