Subject: | [VCDImager Bugs/Devel] too many buttons mapped? |

Hi
I recently got access to a Thomson DTH500 player
which apparently can play SVCDs even though it's not official branded as being
compatible. Anyways.. so I created a couple of VCDs and SVCDs using VCDEasy and
DVD2SVCD. The former worked just fine, the latter had a problem that when I
pressed the button on the remote to advance by a chapter it wouldn't
work.
After a few test version I now have a private beta
of dvd2svcd (it uses 0.7.12pre of vcdimager btw.. and you've been talking to the
author before so you problably know exactly what's going on with that prog
anyways) where I can use both forward and backward by chapter buttons. I can
also use the numerical buttons to select chapters. So far so good.. now
everything works nicely until I press one of the navigational buttons on the
remote (you know.. up, down, left right).. while that will allow me to jump thru
the chapters (up/down) and then I can access the selected chapter by pressing
the center key of the navigational buttons (enter).. and the left/right buttons
would allow me to advance by a chapter (or go back by a chapter).. as soon as I
touch one of these buttons I can no longer use any button to move forward by a
chapter.. the numerical buttons still work.. but chapter foward doesn't.
Furthermore.. I can't change the audio track or activate/change subtitle tracks
because as soon as I use one of the navigational buttons (which I have to to
select another audio track... just the way the player works).. I get the chapter
selection using the up/down button again. So.. I'm thinking something is wrong
with the key mapping. These navigational buttons should never be mapped to these
chapter functions in the first place (they cannot be used when watching DVDs..
only to navigate the menus). I've been into DVD authoring before this and from
there I know how hard it can be to set up a fully working disc.. and to make
sure every button is properly mapped (or demapped from a certain functionality).
Do you think that is at all possible and a bug? How
would I go to de-map the navigational button from any disc
functionality?
And fyi I've attached the xml script that dvd2svcd
created for me for my latest testdisc.
