http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=1474Aesthetically I prefer the new spacing, at least in this example, but I suspect the old spacing would be easier to read if, for instance, one were sight reading. On the whole I think it is best to keep get the old spacing back if possible.
BTW I am Bernard Hurley (address@hidden), but it seems I have to be identified by my gmail account on here. Is there any way of changing that?
I have said I would shepherd this, but I would also like to look at it myself. I have programming experience in both C++ and scheme but don't know my way around the lily code, so I would be grateful if someone would give me a few pointres as to where to start looking.
