That default I knew.  I guess there is still
some advantage in being explicit.

As you surely already know, in practice, and in
the US even contrary to the spirit (if not the
letter) of the country's constitution, copyright
privileges are now forever (by way of repeated
duration extensions).  That may be one reason
for the years' diminish relevance.
