Hi milfor,
I was actually going to suggest the alternate process you describe in your latest Email. This way the "Start New Games Immediately" feature remains enabled, and you can still step back to the previous game to analyze it before proceeding with the next game in the match. About the new problem you describe concerning the dice disappearing when you are on roll in the new game, even after you have clicked your black marked first roll: I believe this is a known problem. At least I have noticed this when navigating back and forth between games in a match or session. There is a workaround that I use which may get you your dice roll back so that you may continue playing your match. If you click your black marked first roll and the dice remain invisible, single-click twice on the "Edit" toolbar button which will cause you to enter and then leave Edit Mode. This should cause your dice to re- appear so that you may continue playing without having to start a new match.

Hope this helps. Take care,
                           Myshkin

Yes, you are right. I won't disable "Start New Games Immediately"
because it's apparently not well-thought-out.

But that produces another problem: I play the first game, GNUBG
makes the first roll in the second game, I go back to the first game,
analyse it, return to the second game and click on the black marked
first roll. Sometimes this makes the dice visible and I can move.
But sometimes the dice remain invisible and GNUBG lets me neither
move nor roll. None of the buttons or menu commands helps.
Therefore I am stuck and have no other choice than start a new
match and lose the old one.
