It works for me with the Debian build of 0.14.3 against the latest version
of gtk in Debian, but I do get a few assertions from doing nothing but
starting up gnubg and then going to help/commands:
(gnubg:23636): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_drawable_get_depth: assertion
`GDK_IS_DRAWABLE (drawable)' failed
(gnubg:23636): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_pixmap_set: assertion
`gdk_colormap_get_visual (gtk_widget_get_colormap (GTK_WIDGET (pixmap)))->depth
== gdk_drawable_get_depth (GDK_DRAWABLE (val))' failed
