Hi,
  so I've downloaded the current cvs, did not rerun any of the auto* tools,
just run configure ... but cannot compile:

make[2]: *** No rule to make target address@hidden@', needed by
`libgettextlib.la'.  Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/software/scratch/mmokrejs/gettext/lib'

2002-11-19  Bruno Haible  <address@hidden>

        Switch to autoconf-2.56.
        * configure.in (LTLIBOBJS): Remove variable.

  I tried to run autoconf to update configure, but it complains that I
don't have automake 1.6 (I have 1.6.3). :(

  Could someone update the configure in cvs? Thanks!
