Strnge menu positioning problem

I recently built emacs21 at work with Motif as the toolkit, and noticed one
somewhat strange bug:

Using the mwm window manager, if I resize the emacs window by grabbing the
top edge and dragging it up, then click on something like the "File" menu
button, the menu appears positioned at the old "File" button position.

If I then grab the title bar and move (rather than resize) the window, and
click on File again, the menu is now positioned correctly.

Is someone cacheing the menu position info and failing to flush on a resize,
but correctly flushing on a move?
