My personal feeling is that I have a day job and don't have time to
waste moving projects around for no good reason.

I rarely follow the crowd; this philosophy has served me well in life.

This is the most important part of my message, yet you chose to ignore it.
If you'd like to contribute to the gawk community, please develop
a shared library to implement the functions you think are useful.

It is not helpful to criticize what other people are doing. If you don't
like the situation, please step up and try to improve it. We all do this
as volunteers. And if you really think github is superior, you are welcome
to do the work to migrate it there and then show us why it's better.
