Oh, and I'm overlooking these:
groups is in the shadow package too
id is in the shadow package too
On GNU systems, like GNU/Linux, it is only appropriate to install the
GNU version of these programs by default. The problem with su is that
it requires root access to be usable, and the problem with arch is
that it is not standard (the Solaris arch command does not do what the
GNU arch command does for example, and this would break scripts); and
hence why it makes sense to disable them by default. The same does
not apply for id, groups or kill.
