On Linux/GNU, there are a couple more candidates for an exclude-list: groups is in the shadow package too id is in the shadow package too su is in the shadow package too kill is in the procps package too uptime is in the procps package too hostname is in the net-tools package too There may well be more for which a system administrator might prefer another package. bjd
