That is actually not a good idea since we don't actually prescribe a
particular TeX distribution.  It would probably be more appropriate to
fix the DOC string of preview-TeX-style-dir instead, since the
appended : or ; should not normally be required as it is supposed to
be figured out automatically.

Does this not work on your system?
