[Bug-AUCTeX] preview-1.257; Document's master is set to _region_.tex

Dear bug-fixing team,

after having previewed the contents of a buffer, at least the
command `Latex' is applied to `_region_.tex' instead of the
document.  The steps to reproduce (for me) are:

 * Start XEmacs in vanilla mode and evaluate

   (require 'tex-site)
   (setq preview-gs-command "gswin32c")

 * Create or open a new document, for example

|

| 
| \end{document}

 * Preview the buffer (and cache the preamble):

   C-c C-p C-b y

 * Now try to build the document:

   C-c C-c LaTeX RET

You will observe, that the command is executed for `_region_.tex'.
