Follow-up Comment #1, sr #106765 (project bibledit):
Dan: WebKit is a great embedded browser, and seems more plausible to port
into MinGW than xulrunner, but everytime the web browser changes inside BE,
the Windows port loses ground. Having the ability to use the old browser for a
time will speed up the process.
Teus: WebKit had so many benefits as compared to GtkHtml that it was a great
improvement to have that one in. When the switch to WebKit was made, the
bibledit version on Linux lost ground too. But this was fixed later on. Since
we have had huge problems with xulrunner, and they keep changing, it would be
a lot of extra work for the programmer to maintain that. Then there's GtkHtml
which does not support frames, so it had to be dropped for a better one.
Remains only libwebkit, and I am happy with that webbrowser. Hope you don't
mind if this is the only web browser.
