I am using AUCTex 11.55-2 which is the version available in the Ubuntu
package manager.  I put
(setq TeX-auto-save t)
(setq TeX-parse-self t)
(setq-default TeX-master nil)
in my .emacs file, but I don't see and menu entries for inserting a
frame. And if I try C-c C-e and type frame<tab> I get no matches.
Should I look somewhere else?

Thanks,

Ryan

Support for this has been available for several versions of AUCTeX
already. Note that beamer nowadays recommends using the "frame"
environment instead (but AUCTeX supports both ways).

Which version of AUCTeX do you use? Have you enabled document parsing
as explained on the first page of the manual?
