What is needed to compile all this? I can always run it through a debugger
(Visual C++ though) if its easy to get compiled.

Output this time:
Starting
Screen init done
Video mode set
Input manager initialised
Input callback connected
Image created
Image resized
Image filled
image::load
igzstream created
about to call image::get
image::get
read mask (0) and alpha (255)
image::get_raw
surface::clear
freeing surface
done
surface cleared
image cleared
image size will be 224x49
so I'll ask to read 21952 bytes
allocated memory for raw data
read raw data from file
image::raw2display
