Hi,
I've asked a few days ago about comments on changes
to the UI of fdesign, especially from those of you who
use fdesign regularly. Up until now I didn't get any
replies.
To repeat the essential points:
a) There's no difference between the way fdesign reacts to
the "Accept", "Cancel" and "Restore" buttons whether
the "Generic" or "Spec" tab folder is shown: "Accept"
stores all changes made (to both the generic and the
object class specific attributes), "Cancel" undoes all
changes and both buttons close the form for editing
attributes. "Restore" undoes all changes but leaves
the form for editi ng attributes on the screen.
Makes sense.
b) The "autoApply" button vanishes and, with it the
"Apply" button.
Odd, after a decade of using fdesign I never noticed the "Auto
Apply" button. I won't miss it! I assume auto apply will be the
default now?
My feeling is that makes the UI simpler to understand
(and, at the same time, the code, which is IMHO a bit hard
to understand at the moment).
In the last two days I've taken a closer look what
it will involve and before I start working for some days
on implementing and testing those changes I'd like to be
sure that there's no serious resistance to the proposed
modifications. So please speak up if you feel I'm on the
wrong track with this!
Best regards, Jens
Serge
