They're specs for 'open compatibility'.
Implementing systems that conform to these won't cause any problems.
At least I don't think so.
Perhaps we could bounce this question over to the GNU guys who know.
I hope not - the XA/XATMI stuff is really important as it'll allow Goldwater
to integrate with products such as Oracle.
