Loic,

Thanks for the additional system information as well as your process :)

Two things stick out at me:

1. I do not see a configure, make, and make install step in your
process.  I think this is probably the root cause of the your problem
since the log and run directories are created in that step.

2. I see an error when it tries to run hostname -f.  AIX 5.1 does not
appear to support the -f flag.  I do not think this is very relevant to
your problem, but something that needs to be fixed :)

I do have access to an AIX 5.1 box for the purposes of developing and
testing Tiger on this platform ... so I can provide additional
assistance if necessary.  [NOTE: AIX is a new platform for me, so it
might be a day or two before I get Tiger installed and ready to test on
this system].

Hope this helps, if not ... I will work on getting Tiger installed on my
AIX test system.
