Dear Swarm-support list members:

Swarm-2.1.145-20030623 exists!

I took my source code from cvs, made sure everything was working right, removed all the CVS directories, wrapped it up, and posted in the swarm ftp src/testing directory:

ftp://ftp.santafe.edu/pub/swarm/src/testing/swarm-2.1.145.20030623.tar.gz

(I understand that "make dist" is supposed to automate this, but I have some glitch in that).

I also have RPM offerings, which were built against hdf5-1.4.5post2 and j2sdk-1.4.1_03 rpm from the javasoft site. Good luck, I tested these on the machine on which they were built and one other machine in our computer lab. Look in here:

http://lark.cc.ku.edu/~pauljohn/Swarm/Swarm-2.2x_RH9.0

for these files

hdf5-1.4.5post2-1RH90.i386.rpm

swarm-2.1.145.20030623-1RH9.0.src.rpm
swarm-jdk-2.1.145.20030623-1RH9.0.i386.rpm
swarm-static-2.1.145.20030623-1RH9.0.i386.rpm

Swarm-2.1.145 has many new, handy things, most important of which is Java support for MacOS users. I don't know anything about the Mac side of things, if you need help, join the swarm-hackers email list and ask in there. Also in this version there are various bug fixes and other things I've needed. If you have noticed that points and lines in ZoomRasters did not appear to maintain their relative position
while zooming, you will be glad to know that problem is no more. In
case you want to see a demo using points, lines, and such, here is my not-ready-for-prime-time election simulation:

http://lark.cc.ku.edu/~pauljohn/Swarm/MySwarmCode/Election/election-20030621.tar.gz

Now that the points and lines problem of ZoomRaster is closed, I will finalize that simulation and make it available soon.
