No, not really. Maybe a message sent to an empty or dead spot on a
grid? I'd watch to see when it happens and then put a conditional in
the code that lets you easily stop the simulation in gdb (e.g. a line
number that is otherwise never hit that you could put a breakpoint on).
Then step forward with step/next as appropriate until you see where
the failure happens.
