debugging flags

[Doug Donalson]

Well, I have everything set up on Linux except that gdb (and xxgdb) don't
believe that my executible is in a format that they can read.  Can someone
give me a hint as to which flags need to be set, their syntax, and which
"makefile" they need to be in?
