Package: Commissar

Commissar is a web directory management system written in PHP. The system is 
composed
of an application framework and directory application \"modules\" that enable 
different types
of directory applications.

The following are descriptions for the application modules that will come with 
the first release:

* A Yahoo-style URL directory
* A data record directory (e.g. Freshmeat, Linux Software Map, etc.)
* A document/news article directory
* An LDAP directory interface

Commissar will support the creation an unlimited number directory applications 
of any
available type. Commissar will be designed to be incorporated into unrelated 
PHP documents
by simply include()\'ing as a page element into the document. A single 
installation of Commissar
will support multiple sites/domains.

The purpose of Commissar will be to easily enable the creation of directory 
applications and
thier encorporation into dynamic websites.
