Details:

It would be really great if there was some way of knowing how much of a
particular operation had been completed.  Not knowing how much of a backup
has finished, it is impossible to know if there are 15 minutes left or 3 days
- in some situations this could be quite significant.

A simple % transmitted would be sufficient.  It could be based either on the
amount of data left to transfer or the number of files.
