this did not help. I got the same undefinrd reference:

/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-asplinux-linux/2.96/../../../libasound.so: undefined 
reference to address@hidden'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

Any idea?

--- at this point I have a question. How to check which driver I use? However, 
ASP linux team said to me that in distribution by default  I may use ALSA, 
but in "OSS emulation mode"... Moreover, I nave aRts turned on...
