Hi,

as I walked through the phpgw code and tried to understand how it's working I stumbled over home.php and I ask myself why you do so much
special handling with that file?
why don't you (me) write 'home' as a normal app?

Pro:
-some sites don't need a portal. they don't even need home (they just offer one app)
-less handling of special files
-you could have very special portal apps (maintained by others)
and just have to provide a dummy one (empty page)
-(frames were easier to implement)

Cons:
-??? (Tell me)

Some thoughts of a phpgw newbie ;-)

Peter
