As I talked to lex yesterday night on the channel, this extension is already planed (and documented in the wiki). Calendar should be able to shedule contacts and resources (eg. rooms) beside as always accounts. The table- and souce change to do so, will be implemented in a way to allow acception and rejection of single events in a repetetive event, as this is a long time feature-request too.

I have just finished the new location module in property (HEAD) - it consists of a meta-database that allows total freedom in designing the hierarchy - each new level in the hierarchy creates a new table (fm_location{level}) which have its keys(loc1,loc2...loc{level}) as fk to the parent level. One can name the levels what ever one wants - and add as many attributes as one wants per level. each attribute can be set to show up in lists(or not). When querying one level - it is joined with its parent to the top level. In addition to each level-key - there is a superkey which can serve as one single resource-key. (example: level 3 has the keys loc1,loc2,loc3 - and the superkey(location_code): 'loc1-loc2-loc3') It would have been nice if this location code could be hooked up as a resource in calendar. This would also make Calendar a great tool for maintenance-planning.
