Ideally, the conduit should not neet so use SQL statements (thus
requiring an SQL account, and potentially avoiding the phpgw account and
ACL system). Would it not be possible to use either the SyncML or
xml-rpc interfaces available on phpgw? This would be the cleanest method
(I think), and the option that could share code with other clients.

This would also make it multi-user friendly I think.
