[Pan-users] Trying to get body for obsolete header - revisited |

This is a follow-up to the issue I raised in the thread:
http://mail.freesoftware.fsf.org/pipermail/pan-users/2002-July/001497.html
I just downloaded and built Pan 0.12.92, and bug #88665 still remains fixed
(and Francisco Franco is still dead). However (as mentioned as a sidenote in
the original bug report) there is no visual indication that Pan was unable to
obtain a body for an obsolete header. In Pan 0.11.x and earlier you'd get the
little red X on the left side of the header pane, and the "message" was a
text indication that the body was no longer available. As it stands now
though there is no red X, and the "message" is "This is beta software. If
you find a bug, please report it...".
Personally I prefer the old state of affairs, and I fear that the current one
might be particularly disconcerting to new users (who may think that Pan
didn't get the body due to a bug).
Certainly the main bug was fixed very quickly, but I think that the further
polish would be useful when time permits. Does anyone else have any thoughts
on this?
Also, would it be useful for me to submit the current shortcoming as a low
priority bug report? I wasn't sure whether this would be a helpful reminder
or a damn nuisance to the developers.
As always, thanks for the great newsreader.
