[Pan-users] Flagged Binaries Download Problem

No, the menu doesn't say "Download *article bodies*" but it does say "Save
Attachments". I got it that to work although I wish I had the "Save
Attachments" options when I download flagged articles, I have to use those
separately now. In Xnews(my favorite Newsreader in Windoze) you can "Queue"
articles, download them to a temporary folder, when your done downloading goto
that temporary folder "Queue" which articles you want to download( and where
you want to put them), and your done. Pan works sort of the same way only
instead of "Queuing" or "Flagging" articles I have to hold down the Ctrl key to
select multiple articles which is tenuious because if I have to goto another
application temporarily then I could lose my selections. Once I have those
marked and am ready to "Save Attachments" they all go to the same directory
when I would like to choose which articles get decoded where. It's a pity
Xnews can't run under Wine(something the Xnews programmer acknowledges) but wil
l run under VMware but I don't want to spend $300 just to run a newsreader.

You don't want to "download" them -- this only stores the article
bodies
on disk, but does not decode their contents. (I'm not using the
bleeding-edge version, but the menu used to say, "Download *article
bodies*"... does it still?)
What you want is to "Save attachments" -- this downloads all necessary
parts and decodes the file(s) to your specified download directory.

If those articles are cached on your system, selecting "Save
attachments" should decode the articles for you. If not all parts are
cached, some downloading will still take place.
