Follow-up Comment #5, bug #53890 (project octave):

There aren't many differences between 4.4.0 and 5.0.0 at the moment, so it
should be pretty easy for you to bisect and find the specific change that
breaks this for you.

The error messages you quoted seem to indicate that you have launched a
Chromium or Chrome browser from Octave, and Ctrl+C has possibly killed the
browser and those are its exit error messages.
